iPhone Not Charging? Cable, Port, Battery or Board Fault?
An iPhone that does not charge reliably can have a worn cable, unsuitable adapter, debris in the connector, battery problems, a damaged charging assembly or a board-level fault. The useful first step is to test with a known-good compatible cable and power source, then inspect whether the connector feels unusually loose or only works at a particular angle.
Do not force or scrape the port
Metal tools can damage contacts or create a short. If debris is visible, avoid aggressive cleaning. A professional inspection can separate compacted debris and connector wear from faults elsewhere in the charging path.
When a repair assessment makes sense
Book an assessment if several known-good chargers fail, the port is physically damaged, the phone becomes unusually hot, or charging remains intermittent after basic accessory checks. See iPhone charging port repair Bristol.
