Laptop Plugged In but Not Charging: What the Symptom Can Mean

A laptop that says it is plugged in but does not charge can have an adapter problem, damaged DC or USB-C connector, battery wear, firmware or charging-control issue, or a board-level fault. Before assuming the battery has failed, confirm the charger specification and whether another known-good compatible adapter changes the behaviour.
